Are You on Fire?
As the seasons change, are you suffering with allergies or feeling some chronic aches and pains that are making you weary?
You could have a fire brewing in your body from inflammation…let’s talk more.
As a caregiver to both my parents before they transitioned, a big lesson I learned from them is how disease can be silent. One day they were here laughing, swimming, playing softball, and moving with ease…and then within a short year, they were gone.
There wasn’t a whole lot of “notice” or symptoms going on, at least not for them, that put them on high alert.
We write off so many symptoms as aging (chronic pain, arthritis, moving slower, brain fog) that we come to accept these things as normal. When in fact, they are the whispers for help from the body that slowly become silent screams.
Do you listen to your body’s whispers or cries for help?
When we don’t, inflammation is the result, followed by disease.
We’ve all heard of “anti-inflammatory foods”, because more and more research is showing that the only way to beat the stress we put on our bodies is to put on our armor.
Our armor is stress management, fruits and vegetables, connecting with loved ones, maintaining a gratitude practice, having an exercise routine we love, and doing a job everyday that fulfills your passion and purpose.
That’s a long list right?
Well, you have a lifetime to make baby steps and create these habits, and you’re a warrior, so don’t let that stop you!
So, let’s start with one step.
What does it look like when we are under “fire” or have inflammation?
- Allergies
- Insomnia
- Chronic pain
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Anger
- Swollen belly
- Bloated
- Gas
- Puffiness
Just to name a few….
These are all signs that your body wants help.
There are certain foods that can cause inflammation in the body, so really once you learn which ones are giving you trouble, you can eliminate them (either for good, or maybe just temporarily) and be on your way to putting your fire out.
The problem with many of my clients is that they got brainwashed to think that these “symptoms” were normal.
They’ve been pushing through for a long time, taking Advil, Aleve, etc. to treat some of these symptoms, so it can take longer to reverse, but totally possible through diet, lifestyle, and fitness modifications.
I love the “aha” moments from my clients when they learn that those chronic pains in their hands actually flared up when they ate certain foods, and went away when they gave them up. HOW COOL IS THAT?
And an even better question is; why wouldn’t you want to know that????
I would love to share one of my red-hot tools with you: My top 10 inflammatory foods to avoid if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms and feel like you are suffering.
